Fw: I DON'T LAUGH, I COUGH

Yep. I am not capable of laughing right now. I have a heavy throat problem. Not to mention my sariawan. I have three sariawan. I named them Fahran, Rancho, and Raju. 3 idiots. They are seriously nagging me crazy. It hurts so much I want to stab my self and just end all this suffering.
Now, every time I try to laugh, all you will get is a heavy coughing from me. I can't really talk either. I am not capable of saying one complete sentence without a cough or losing my voice in the middle of the sentence.

So mid exams are behind me. It's been 2 weeks since I did my last exam. I just got two result out of six. The two are okay, I guess. I'm still in B. I can do B. I don't do C tho. Hopefully the rest will also between B and A.

Last weekend, on Friday, I had a blind date. My friend set me up. It went okay. He was really nice and was really quiet. And I thought I was quiet! He was THAT silent I actually became chatty. Needless to say, I don't think there's any 'we' in the future.

The next day, I went to Singapore for the weekend with my mom and my sis. We left with 3 bags and went home with 6 bags. It was fun tho arguments with my mom was inevitable. She just has a way to push my buttons sometimes. But I ♥ my mom, she's always the one I can rely to. My dad is the best problem solver but he doesn't handle small stuff. He let my mom in charge for that.

As you all notice, (well, probably not, I mean, why would you care, right?) but I have gained a lot of weight since 3 years ago when I first came to UPH. It bothers me sometimes but I guess as long as I'm healthy, you know.
So I think these five tips are all girls can relate to
Five ways to look slimmer :
1. Wear black
Yes. Black IS slimming. Not to mention, give you that mysterious vibe. And it doesn't require much thought, you can't go wrong with black. And even thought black always looks depressing, but it's the perfect way to hide all those fat. And I can afford to look like a slimmer-but-a more-depressed-me

2. Invest in outerwear (cardigan or vest or blazer)
Outerwear is perfect to cover up undesired flab. And always invest in a dark color cardigan. Bright color only attract more attention and make you look chubbier. Also, another tip, buy men's cardigan. But make sure it's not too loose or you just look fatter and sloppy. Blazer makes a look sharper and neat. Opt for a long boy-cut blazer. Long blazer camouflage big hip and butt.

3. Wear monochrome
If black is not really your thing, use the same color from head to toe. Keep it in the same shade. You don't have to go all blue or all purple. And dear God forbid, all orange. Make sure the color is not tacky and not EXACTLY the same or you'll ended up like a clown.
4. Sky high heels
Heels are every girl's best friend. The higher the heels, the better. Heels make your butt looks good and you will unconsciously stand straighter and tuck your tummy in so will have an illusion of flat abs. Wear heels as long as you can. Be careful not to fall.

5. Wear light material!
Light material makes you look lighter. Always always choose something light and avoid all those wool. I'm so grateful I live in tropical country. I can't pull off all layering and fuzzy jackets.
And the best tip I can give, THINK SLIM!

Until next blog!

OBSESSED

Bonjour, it's 4.15 pm now and I am exhausted. My sariawan has been non-stop nagging me and my throat is throbbing. I feel like crap.
Mid exams week is right in front of my eyes and I have zero idea on how I'm going to survive it. My lecturers this semester are all overqualified people who are seriously busy. I'm not sure why they accept the offer to teach at the first place. I don't think I have studied anything in the past 2 months. I need to study extra hard yet I have no spirit whatsoever. Oh so Lord help me. I just hope I don't fail any of the subject this semester.
As you can see, I hate mid exams week yet after that week, I shall have my weekend at Singapore which I am looking forward to. I know it's going to be hot there but I'm still excited cause I finally going to breath some new air. I can't wait to shop til I drop. Sightseeing. Taking pictures. Shopping again. And take more pictures.
Let's hope this week pass without any meaningful obstacle. Lord know I need a smooth sailing week or I'll panic.

On my fashion world, I've been obsessed with looklet. It's an amazing site where you can dressed up your model in any way you want it. It's such an awesome web. I try to visit it every single day but I've been preoccupied lately. This is one of my favourite look that I created.
It doesn't exactly have that much of hearts but I just love the detail and the structure of the dress. It's by Dolce and Gabbana.
Please do check my page and give me your heart on my looks and my profile.

On the other hand, I've been obsessed with my velvet blazer which has a puff shoulder. It just screams chic and elegant I try to wear it in every ocassion.
Guess you can't really see it. But it's fabulous! I think every girl should have one velvet blazer in their closet.

I also been obsessed with pattern! I just can't get enough of it. I love flowery pattern though I'm very selective at it cause I can't really pull off a too-sweet-look. I'm more to the abstract pattern and bohemian pattern too. Here some of my findings.

This one is vintage. I got it from an online shop. It's kinda silky and shiny. So I usually paired it with short jeans skirt to tone it down for a day look.
I got this one on sale! Yet it's perfect for a hangout day with my sis and mom!
This one I get from another online store. I'm in the left. With flowery pattern top. I paired it with high-waist skirt. On the right is my gorgeous sister. She opted for a bohemian pattern which I also love!
This is my favorite jacket. I got it from my Sukabumi trip a few months ago. It has a peacock feather pattern and I instantly fell in love with it!
Here's another vintage. It's a flowery patterned short sleeved blazer. I paired it with my LBD and add a belt cause it's kinda baggy on me. I opted for a black heels, but I guess my gold flats will do for a long day.

That's me holding my peacock patterned jacket. I was wearing one of my favorite bohemian top. I just love the pattern at neckline.

Viva pattern!!

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT BAD BOYS THAT YOU ALWAYS GO BACK TO

Evening, darlings. The first week of even semester just passed by. TGIF!
This semester schedule is brutal. 4credits in 1 day. I don't have a clue on how my days are going to be next week. Not very prospectus for sure!

Did a barbecue thing with a few friends yesterday. It was fun tho I was famished enough to had a maag attack. One of my diamond from out of town came to visit. She's definitely my weak point. I just love her. I found that I would go on more measure than I normally did to my other diamonds. However, I love them all equally!

As for this title, who wouldn't agree?
So one of my diamond saw my latest (if you call a year behind latest, I know, my love life sucks) fling out and about with his male (thankfully!) friend.
He's definitely on a bad boy side. He's very flirty and you can see that bad boy twinkle in his eyes which you just couldn't resist. Perhaps that's why I was head over heel with him.
And when she BBM me that she saw him, my heart literally fell. I thought he would be on a date with his girlfriend. Good thing he was with a male friend.
That's when I realized I haven't completely forget him. Which is bad considering he has a girlfriend and all. But I found that I couldn't help myself to see how he's doing. So I ended up checking out his FB page and BBM him. I was so afraid I might fall to that diabolical circle all over again I ended the conversation abruptly. Geez. The pull those boys have!
I guess there's something about bad boys that you always go back too. It's their adventurous and outgoing personality that is just so hard to forget.
O well, I guess it's for the best. I know God have a very special plan for me.

As for the fashion note, I am loving scarf on my bag. Especially my plain bag. I mean.. take a look at this boring bag
Add a little animal-print scarf
And voila. Much better don't you think? Besides, scarves are good investments. It has multiple function and you'll never be too old to wear a scarf. I think scarves are staying! I mean, I only start to embraced scarves in 2008, but I'm loving it until now. Plain scarves are a better investment. However, I much prefer animal-print scarf, cause my outfit are mostly plain. It gives you warmth, light to carry around, gives an instant spice on your boring outfit, and make you look stylish instantly.
I know it's so 2008, but up until now, I still see scarves everywhere. So I think there's no harm to buy some more ;)

To be clear, a guilty pleasure TV shows are TV shows that have no clear message in it and are generally 'not smart' and you don't have to think to enjoy it. I watch these five every time I need a quick refreshment from my boring university life. One or two episodes later, I'm all smile again.
My five guilty pleasure TV shows :
1. The Hills
I know it's so shallow, phony, and even fabricated in some ways, but I watch it religiously! Lauren Conrad, I love her since the 1st time I saw her on Laguna Beach. She's such a sweetheart. Now that she left, I only do marathon on the past 5 season. I wonder how she is doing right now. I only hope good things for her! And the girls are all so stylish. Now for a fashionlover like moi, it's like a guidebook for hanging out with my girls.
2. The City
Whitney is my second favourite girl in The Hills. She's so nice and naive. Can you believe her? If I were her when Olivia (that skinny-bitch!) took all the credit when she told every1 she pulled the look for Jessica Alba's Elle cover, I would probably, at that very moment, gone furious. But I guess Whit was just trying to be a mature. The fashion in The City is definitely different from The Hills. It's more formal but not less stylish! If I were a businesswoman, this TV show would probably be my fashion bible.
3. Gossip Girls
Do I need to explain? Clearly not. I just love it. It's so gossipy.
4. The O.C.
It's so 2005, but I always love Seth sarcastic comments. Ryan clearly my ultimate good bad-boy icon. And Rachel Bilson as Summer is always looking cute. And when Mischa was still.. well.. Marissa.
5. The Wizards of The Waverly Place
Alex style in this series is always unpredictable. She can make stripes goes with polkadot plus leopard print looks cute. When it actually applied on us, we might be arrested by a fashion police. Guess that's the benefit of having a skinny limbs. Go Selena!

LET'S HAVE A STYLISH 20-10

Happy New Year, darlings! How was your NYE? Mine was purrfect. I went to bed at 10 then at 12 p.m. my dad, mom, and sisters prayed. Then back to bed. LOL. You probably think it's so boring but I happen to think any occassion is best spent with your loved ones. And I ♥ my family to death.

So a week has passed by in this 20-10. It was filled with shopping, lunches, movies, dinners, and more shopping. I have no vision whatsoever about how this year is going to be.
I mean, I planned to finish my university life this year. Wish me luck. I need all the luck I can get. Then it's a blank. Seriously, I need to plan more. A strategy even!

As to this blog title, I'm determined to slip in a little about fashion and style from now on. Nothing grand or couture or unafforded brand (for me at the very least). Just a day-to-day affordable fashion. A street style, is that the correct term?

Also 5 something that I currently ♥ on the top of it.
So here we go

I'm loving braided hair right now. Just a little braid from ur bangs on the side of ur head. It's so cute. It's fresh. It's young. And it's so easy to do! (yes I am inspired by The Hills cast)
For an even easier look, instead of braiding ur hair, u could just twist it. It's still gives a fresh-feeling yet nicely put. Give it a try! I sure did and I can't stop styling my hair like that ;)

Lauren Conrad's braided style

Whitney Port's twist style

On my playlist :
1. Happy by Leona Lewis
Did u guys see the video? We were given the impression leona is getting ready for her wedding. And all those looking-into-each-other-eyes scenes. Then we found out that the bride is NOT leona. I was like 'whaaat???'. But it gives a good mssg. U can still be happy even when the ♥ of ur life is marrying someone else (yeah right)
2. Fireflies by Owl City
I want to live in his basement. It's like a toy-store gone-wild. It has all the toys u can think of. Not to mention a seriously easy listening melody.
3. Down by Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne
The video clip was like RnB 101. U have a good-looking guy walk in to the club, sexy and sintal ladies, booze, blings, and boys dancing (in a cool way). I like the song simply cause it's catchy.
4. Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson
This song breaks my ♡!
5. Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus
Now who doesn't want to party with Miley Cyrus??

Until we blog again. Let's hv a stylish year, everybody :)

REMEMBER DECEMBER

I should change my blog name to 'month by month'. By the time I created this blog, I was determined to post every single day. But I guess I was too ambitious.
It's december already! Time flew. Okay, that's not entirely true. There were days where I felt like time seems to excruciatingly stopped. But mostly, time just went by unnoticedly.
Just a quick run-down.
- Final exams are way done! Gosh, I think this is the laziest semester ever. I think I did okay. Though I know for sure my GPA will not as briliant as last semester. I couldn't blame anyone but myself.
- Met my niece from OZ. Her name is Valery. She's s precious! Too adorable to be true. And definitely too smart for her age! I'm a proud aunty!

- Me and my diamonds went to Anyer beach for an exam-stress-reliever. A little fun in the sun. Worked like a charm. We had so much fun there. Unfortunately, there's a price to pay. My sunburn was a torture! I was in so much pain I thought I actually had a skin-cancer!

- Celebrated Christmas for 4 times. One in UPH. One in Subang. One in Bandung. One in Jakarta. Merry Christmas and happy birthday, big J!
- My mom birthday was yesterday. We had a little bit cake thing going on. It's the first time me and my fam gave my mom a cake on her bday. She looked surprised but happy. Happy 52nd bday, my beloved mom!

- New Year is coming up. Don't know if I'm going to celebrate it or not cause bed sounds so tempting.
Until we blog again!

SATURDAY

A quick catch-up
- FSA of Indofood is done. Way done actually. It went okay, I supposed. My team members were awesome and our presentation was so-so.
- Audit presentation also done. Our team member got an Enron case presentation. I think it went smoothly! :)
- Spent a weekend at Sukabumi. It was like fun overrated! So much fun there. Enjoying nature and enjoying ourselves.
- Finally New Moon is out. And yes I've watched it. The wait is finally over. Personally, I ♥ the book much more, ofcourse. But the crew and cast worked really hard and they did great!
- My parents just bought me a mini HP notebook. And I'm a happy daughter right now. Thank you daddy and mommy.
- I got my shot for cervics cancer vaccine thingy. Which still stings and I still feel a little sore. But, it's important to keep the cancer away. Going to get another shot in february, then in may. No more fear tho! LOL. I was actually kinda scared before the 1st shot. Not anymore now!
- Been more and more in ♥ with my diana camera.
- Final exam is less than 2 weeks away. Then, holiday! Woohoo!!
